Terms of Service
- You pay after the ride. Flat rate per vehicle, GST included.
- Free cancellation up to 12 hours before pickup.
- We track your flight and adjust arrival pickups automatically.
- If we fail to show up, we refund your fare and cover replacement transport up to five times the fare. We are not responsible for missed flights or onward costs.
- This summary is for convenience only; the full terms below govern.
These Terms form a binding agreement between you (“you”, “the passenger”) and Vamos Express Shuttle Inc., operating as Vamos Express (“we”, “us”, “our”). By ticking the acceptance box when booking, or by booking by phone or text message, you agree to these Terms, including Section 7 (Limitation of Liability).
1. Our service
We provide pre-arranged, door-to-door ground transportation, primarily between the Okotoks / High River / Diamond Valley area and Calgary International Airport (YYC), and other routes on request. All trips are booked in advance; we do not accept street hails.
Trips may be performed by our own drivers or by independent contractor drivers engaged by us. In either case your booking and payment are with us, and every driver must hold the licensing, commercial insurance and background checks we require.
2. Bookings and confirmation
- A booking exists only once you receive our confirmation by text message or email. A submitted form on its own is a request, not a confirmed booking.
- The price quoted is a flat rate per vehicle for the route, regardless of the number of passengers up to the vehicle's capacity, and includes GST unless stated otherwise.
- You are responsible for the accuracy of the details you give us — date, time, pickup and drop-off addresses, flight number and contact phone number. We are not responsible for a failed pickup caused by incorrect or incomplete information.
- For airport pickups we monitor your flight and adjust the pickup time to the actual arrival at no extra charge.
3. Departure times and your buffer
For departing flights we recommend arriving at YYC at least 2 hours before a domestic flight and 3 hours before an international flight, and we will propose a pickup time accordingly.
You may ask for a later pickup time than the one we recommend. If you do, you accept the schedule risk that comes with it, and we are not responsible for any consequence of a tighter timeline — including a missed flight — even if the delay was partly ours.
4. Payment
- No prepayment is required. You pay after the ride, by card or cash.
- A receipt is provided on request. Gratuities are optional.
- Card payments are processed by our payment provider; we do not store your full card number.
5. Cancellations, changes and no-shows
- You may cancel or change a booking free of charge up to 12 hours before the scheduled pickup — just text or call us.
- Cancellation later than 12 hours before pickup, or a no-show, may be charged at up to 50% of the fare.
- For departures, the driver waits up to 15 minutes past the scheduled pickup time. For arrivals, waiting time is counted from the actual flight arrival, with 45 minutes included for landing, luggage and customs. Waiting beyond those periods may be charged at $1 per minute, or the trip may be treated as a no-show.
- If we must cancel a trip, we will tell you as soon as we know and will not charge you. Section 7 sets out what else we owe you.
6. Your responsibilities and conduct
- Be ready at the agreed time and place, with a working phone we can reach you on. If we cannot reach you within 15 minutes of arrival, the trip may be treated as a no-show.
- Children must travel in an appropriate child restraint as required by Alberta law. Tell us at booking if you need a child seat; if you do not request one in advance we may be unable to carry the child, and the trip will be treated as a cancellation by you.
- Seatbelts must be worn at all times. Smoking, vaping and open alcohol are not permitted in the vehicle.
- You are responsible for your luggage and personal items, including anything left in the vehicle. Tell us at booking about oversized items (skis, bikes, extra bags); we may be unable to carry items not declared in advance.
- The driver may refuse or end a trip without refund if a passenger is abusive, unsafe, heavily intoxicated, or if carrying the passengers or items presented would be unlawful or unsafe.
- Cleaning fees for significant soiling of the vehicle may be charged, up to $150.
7. Limitation of liability
This section limits our responsibility to you. It is a core part of the bargain and is reflected in the price we charge.
7.1 What we always remain responsible for
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited under applicable law. All trips are performed in vehicles carrying commercial insurance for passenger transportation.
7.2 If we fail to perform the trip through our own fault
If we fail to arrive, arrive materially late, or otherwise fail to perform a confirmed trip because of our own fault, our entire liability to you is limited to, at our option: (a) a full refund or waiver of the fare for that trip; plus (b) reimbursement of your reasonable, documented cost of alternative transport to your destination — with the total of (a) and (b) capped at five (5) times the fare for that trip.
This is your sole and exclusive remedy. You agree that this amount is a fair allocation of risk, given the price of the service and the fact that the value of what a delay may cost you is entirely within your knowledge and not ours.
7.3 Events beyond our reasonable control
We are not liable for any failure or delay caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including severe weather, road or highway closures, collisions or traffic incidents, mechanical failure or vandalism, illness, strikes, acts of government, or airline schedule changes. In such cases we will refund any fare paid for the affected trip, and that refund is your only remedy.
7.4 Losses we are never liable for
To the maximum extent permitted by law, and regardless of the cause, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including: missed flights, missed connections or cruises; the cost of replacement airline tickets or change fees; accommodation, meals or car hire; lost or shortened holidays; missed meetings, lost wages, lost business or lost profit; or distress, disappointment or inconvenience.
7.5 Overall cap
Subject to Section 7.1, our total aggregate liability arising out of or in connection with any trip, whether in contract, tort (including negligence), or otherwise, shall not exceed five (5) times the fare for that trip.
7.6 Time limit for claims
Any claim relating to a trip must be notified to us in writing within 30 days of the trip date. Claims notified later are waived, to the extent permitted by law.
8. Lost property
Text us as soon as you notice something missing and we will check with the driver and arrange return; return delivery may carry a reasonable fee depending on distance. We are not responsible for items left in the vehicle and do not insure them.
9. Privacy
We collect and use your personal information as described in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms. By booking, you consent to us sharing the information needed to perform your trip with the assigned driver, and to receiving transactional text messages about your bookings.
10. General
- These Terms are governed by the laws of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada applicable there, and the courts of Alberta have jurisdiction.
- If any provision is found unenforceable, it is severed and the remaining provisions continue in force.
- We may update these Terms from time to time. The version published at the time of your booking applies to that booking.
- These Terms, together with your booking confirmation, are the entire agreement between us regarding your trip.
